Select crew buttons in multiplayer

While playing CS with a friend(he was the host) I noticed that the select crew buttons on the UI wouldn't always select all the unit in that task, sometimes it did but most of the times it only selected part of the group. It was most noticable/interupting gameplay on the select ranged/melee units buttons, trying to move my army while defending and only some of them got selected.

We were playing coop invasion with modified settings to let us play as two separate players while still being on the same team.
