To start off I want to reiterate the title- This game could be so very excellent. Though I fear a heavy focus on RP, coming from the game's young demographic, will cause this game to become a slightly more complex version of Roadblox's. The biggest issue being a lacking in concern towards actual functionality, over per say crystal turrets. Ranging from; bugs / CPU limitations or whatever causes bricktrons to stop moving when you have to many, over looked problems such as having quarries under buildings, and aim or purpose- like surviving as long as you can; which, at first glance I thought was meant to be included in invasion but; after talking to someone from sauropod in a Q&A about uncalled for attacking of walls in open channels (which makes building a complex castle kinda pointless), it appears to me as if the wonky A.I. of coruptrons isn't a large issue, or even apparent, to the studio. Also random spawning of coruptrons in castles not even a quarter across the map isn't ok.. like just no, why was that even a thing from the start, just make it impossible to build 120 blocks away from the crystal in that case because there's no reason to build walls when the enemy spawns in front of them.
All of this being said I understand your a small studio and you have your own dream for the game. I just really like current intent of the game and feel it could be something amazing if developed correctly.

Castle Story and Roblox are two radically different game that share very little in common, actually. Our vision for Castle Story is a sandbox RTS played in a voxel engine, which is where we're headed.
We're constantly and actively working on improving the performance in the game, it's no easy feat but you'll see some real improvement in 0.9.
There are already internal prototypes going on to investigate how we can make the Corruptrons go for your castles rather than try to dig their way through mountains to reach you.
Corruptrons might spawn in your castle if you build a castle so big it goes over their spawn point. It's been discussed and we're looking into ways to improve on that behavior.
All the points you bring up are very valid and are definitely on our radar, but like you said, we're a small team and on one hand, we want to improve the existing mechanics and performance, which means less people working on new features, on another we want to add content, which means less people doing maintenance and polish. It's damned if we do A damned if we do B, but we're getting there.
