Archers don't shoot at viable targets.

Hi,

in my recent games Archers did not shoot at viable targets.
They do however do so if manually ordered to do so. I think it is because of the prioritization.

Archers seem to pick their targets and then keepshooting/try shooting at it till its dead. This however would lead to some problem if the target stays in range but at places where the archers can't shoot (like right beneath them).
As the archers don't even shoot at those targets (while keeping orientated towards them), there seems to be some detection if a target is shootable.
So maybe there is some error in the Algorithm choosing the target.

    Hey Alricus,

Any chance you can reproduce the issue accurately? Trying to figure out what could be causing this.

    Thank you.

I know you asked the OP to do this, but I think I have a save where the archers are bugging out let me look for it really quickly.
  • Okay as promised, I found a save where this occurs, granted I made the game drop in FPS in my rig due to making two quarries, plus tunnels next to the cyrstal.

    Thank you CastleBuilder!

I've forwarded your savefile to the dev team.

Ok, took me some minutes to reproduce this Problem.
Also I am very sure that the Problem is exactly the one described as above. Therefore easily reproducable as long as one is able to get Corruptrons to be at the the right places at the right times.

As Archers work fine aslong as all targets are shootable and only stop working if their target they are firing at walkes into a "non-shootable" zone "in range", I'm pretty sure the Problem are the following two steps:

Archers pick target out of all Corruptrons "in range" without checking if they are "shootable".
And: Archers only change targets if the current target is either dead or "out of range".

I've attatched a savegame where I reproduced the Problem.
Also there is another Problem in that Save where a Brickton "jumped" through the ground and hence been trapped by the massive Island.

EDIT: Perhaps you like .zip more than .7z
