Can't play

Hi. Me and my friend, can't play together. none of us know why. I was told to host the game and simply give him my IPv4, and then he could join my host... but it dosen't work. i really need help

I tried, to invite him through steam, but that dosen't work either...he joins a whole different lobby, than me...

That didn't work either. Neither IP-Adress or Steam invite. he is still being placed in another lobby.
