Crosshairs 1.0 [Conquest | Invasion | PvP | Coop] - Lots of Pictures!

Hi, this is my third map for Castle Story 0.7.

Intro:
The primary game type for this map is conquest, but it does work for invasion too. It's focused towards providing a balanced map with many strategic options for cooperative and versus play. The map is quite easy so I would suggest playing on hard mode, especially in coop. There are 16 mines on the map with 4 player spawn points and a total of 24 additional crystal to provide lots of different places for fun combat!

Tips:
Quickly focus on getting your base up and running and capturing the crystals in your immediate area. Controlling crystals will help to keep your enemy busy and away from your base. While you might have a few corruptrons to tend with early on, you will have some time before things get dicey. Build your defenses at different choke-points and work your way outwards, but be careful: if you spread yourself too thin too fast you will be overrun! In both coop and versus modes, tunnels/explosive barrels can be used to make a direct path to your neighbor. This can be important to assist or attack other players.

Best modes for this map: Two person coop versus Corruptrons in Conquest Hard Mode or a free for all!

  • I tested this map in coop with a buddy and the AI was behaving a bit weird. I'm not sure if it's because of all of the crystals or because the bases are so close, but they spent a lot of time just walking around aimlessly and not capturing or attacking. Best to play this one in versus mode for now.
  • It's a very interesting idea. The way you balanced it makes me feel like it could be used for "competitive play" if that ever happens in castle story.
