Beams instead of logs?

In the new update 0.6.4 there are beams instead of logs for cross pieces. Log do not attach horizontally any more. I see old tutorials for making a bridge that can span out to an island, but I don't see how to do this with the new beams.

    Hey Garbly,

Braces can be used to extend how far from a vertical log you can place beams.

Does that help? If not, I can poke the studio's greatest architect I know, EvaxMeor and ask him to come share his wisdom here. :)

    Let me know.
  • By braces do you mean a beam placed on a diagonal some way?
  • I figured out braces. I guess there is no way to span across to a floating island? You can't span across a space if you don't have access to the far side, unless the island is a lot higher than you?

    Yep.

You'll have to have supports (logs) on both sides to hold the beams and if you use braces on either sides, you can maximize how many beams you can place down before you need to place another log.

You can always start one side and make the bricktron jump off on the other island ;), if you go above that island with archs by example.
