Game Crashes on Load

Hi There,

I recently played Castle Story for the first time since the 0.9 update. Unfortunately I can not play the game. I tried completely uninstalling and installing again but the crash remains.

The game crashes as soon as I get to the main menu. If I open the game in the smaller resolution, I can navigate the menu for about 30 seconds before another crash.

Attached are the crash logs of the most recent crash.

I also have a linux partition. I can play the game on linux, but only for about half an hour before a crash.
Also, my GPU usage spikes to 100% in the main menu, that seems really weird.

    I did those steps, it's what I meant by "completely uninstalling and installing again".
    I just did it again a week later, and same problem.

    Can you tell me what your PC specs are? Notably your OS, CPU, GPU and RAM.

    Certainly, copied from Radeon software tool:

    Graphics Chipset - AMD Radeon R9 200 Series
    Memory Size - 3072 MB
    Memory Type - GDDR5
    Core Clock - 1100 MHz
    Windows Version - Windows 10 (64 bit)
    System Memory - 8 GB
    CPU Type - Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHz

    Hey MagicJesus,

    I've asked our devs to take a look at your logs and specs. I'll get back to you about that soon.

    In the meanwhile, can you try closing all running software (notable anti-viruses/MSI Afterburn if you have that running/fraps/etc) - basically, anything possible. Try, as much as possible, only to have Steam/Castle Story running and tell me if there's any improvement.

    I can't believe I didn't try it before, but I closed a whole bunch of stuff and it seems to working now. I did have msi afterburner running for the record. I'll slowly add things back into the environment and see what caused the failure. I'll report back with my findings next time I get a chance to try things.
