Stockpiles on wooden planks

I built a second floor hoping to make a vertical storage solution but could not place stockpiles on the planks. Is there a plan in the works to allow stockpiles to be placed on wooden planks and if not, can there be?

    Wasn't the possibility patched out of the game.
    I think to remember that we once were able to build stockpiles on planks if placed while the planks are still a blueprint.
