I'm not sure if this should be reported as a bug, or a feature.
But anyway, if you chop down a forest, you get three logs from each tree (minus any logs that fall off the edge). But if you then start a quarry in the location of the forest, the tree stubs will fall down as the soil under them is dug away, and a cleaning task will let you retrieve the stubs as extra logs...

Thanks for the report, it's meant to be like that .
If you really dig out that stump you got an extra log , so trees can give 4 logs if you really want it.
