Not understanding the controls completely, please help me out. Map Editor

I love the fact that the map editor has come out, im a great fan of this game and fell in love with the style of it from the moment i saw this on its kickstarter days. Thanks for keeping the dream so damn alive! i was just wondering how placement of crystals an other spawnpoints works in the game. because i cant seem to place spawn points. i've tried to hold ctrl and other buttons as i click. im hoping that im just having a nighttime stupid moment and that its real easy to solve since i found noone else with this problem. If someone would step in to be my superhero at this i would very much appricate it.

In my testing you had to have a mostly flat area, and simply left click while you had the Crystal (B) highlighted.
There is no limit to how many you can place.

If you look in the bottom right, there is an Info space where it will generally tell you how to use each tool.

It's still a work in progress though.

You also don't need to use a hotkey to place the spawn points of crystals, shards, corruptrons, and mines. In the editor click on the second icon from the top on the leftmost panel. It should look like a flag. From that menu, you should be able to place these spawn points with a click (left click on the one you want to place, then left click where you want to place it). The mines are sometimes tricky to place, as you have to find a flat surface on a cliff. Note, as you can see in Zikini's photo, theses items only appear as spawn points in the map editor, rather than as actual crystals and mines. I hope this helps!
