I stumbled upon this game rather recently so please forgive my ignorance if this has been discussed before, however I must ask what the team's response is to players being able to play (or at least control in certain game modes) as the Corruptions?
It seems like such a missed opportunity if this explored, even if only as a limited feature which PvP aspects are the only way, or as a single player only bonus unlocked.
Asymmetrical multiplayer isn't something we seen as common place which to me at least is a shame, diversity in gaming is what keeps the market interesting.
Now what about the possible balancing issues and concerns, well, that's a tough question I admit but I think it's worth the challenge that the appeal would bring should it work out in the final product. The way in which I imagine it happening is to not be told if you're facing an A.I. or another player, at early stages of the development cycle it'd be easy to tell which is what, but if the A.I. could take ques from how people play and control their armies it'd make for some interesting game play.
If direct PvP is something ruled to be excluded then what of a community driven 'ghost data' system, in which you design a castle level and put it out there for others to conquer and destroy? It would work on the concept of a suggestion system, you either download or upload you own specific castle levels, then you play as the defenders or attackers, when attacking the points of attack you use or the responses you make at noted, this then synchronises with the server each time you're preforming automated leader board checks and etc.
This all seems too ambitious? Perhaps, but these are just examples of how the notion could be explored, I'm not asking that my specific requests be made a reality, I'm just asking that the basic principle of how to play as the Corruptions and if it could be done, should it be?

Just a side note, but regardless of what becomes of this discussion, it'd be nice to have a clearly visible note up for future reference about playing as Corruptions and what the official response is.
Thanks for reading.

Thank you for taking the time to write us. There's a bunch of things we want the players to be able to modify from the "Presets" folder. Right now, there are a few things that you can edit from the "Easy Normal Hard" file and we want to implement more along the way.
We don't know yet the full extend of the of the things you'll be able to customize. Unfortunately, be able to play as the Corruptrons is not part of our plans. It may seem simple, but it would require time and resources that we need to put elsewhere at the moment.
The team is currently working on a PVP mode. I've shown it a few times during our weekly stream:
The only reason it was not in version 0.6, it's because it was not ready yet, but we plan on make it available for the rest of the game in a future update.
Thanks for your suggestions and support,
Ben
