Allow players to test the integrity of their castle creations

The idea of building a castle and testing to see their creations could stand against the impeding forces of the Corruptrons is tossed around recently on the Steam Forums.

On the livestream, Livestream #43, this idea was dismissed, stating this mode would be very similar to the Invasion Mode, where the player could build their castles while defending against Corruptrons.

What wasn't clear about this idea to Evax and Ben on the livestream was the idea of "a pure simulation survival mode", where the player builds a castle, and then without any player interactions, watch the Corruptrons try to destroy the castle to reach the Big Crystal. The player could strategically place down Archers, Warriors, and/or Catapults and Barrels, and try to survive as long as possible, without any player interactions, helps, repairing, rebuilding, or restructuring the castle. This is coined as the "Pure Survival Mode", where the player tries to survive using their creations for as long as possible without trying to extend the lifetime of their creations.

If this feature is put forth, it allows a breadth of meaningful castle creations that can be shared among other players via the Steam Workshop. These castle creations are like puzzles the players need to solve, to see how many waves they can survive and compete against each other to see who has the highest survival rate.

In essence, it's a "pure survival puzzle mode" where players compete against the integrity of their creations. That is the idea being thrown around on Steam.

Do you like this idea? And if not, what is your opinion about this idea?

  • Hi tommai78101,

I got a similar question this morning on the Steam forums. It's actually a request that we get from time to time. The suggestion has been noted, but I can't promise anything at the moment. It depends entirely on what the devs want to implement in the coming months.

    We will see!

Thanks for taking the time to wright to us,

    Ben
