Ok, may sound a bit odd, but hey, I got 50+ things FULL of iron from the magic mines in survival. I wish I could use those as iron building bricks that would be like 5 times stronger than stone, and just have them coat the outside of my castles. Would look REAAAALLLLYYYY nice and would be a practical use for the 1000s of iron building up in my huge 3 story warehouse that JUST houses iron. Also, yellow stone should be used for more things, I have a huge crater field from launching tons of explosive barrels. 
Possibly make it so you can take like 60 stone and add 20 yellow stone to make blocks that glow at night? It is a very useful feature for people who don't like the torches.
