Few proposals

1. More complex Corruptron "system". For now, theyre just spawning from nothing. What about some economy for Bricktrons?

Those nests could be made out of stone by corruptron worker (maybe 1 free for start?)

2. Wooden wall (for houses?)

And options for place it (rotate and change position: at the front, in the middle, at the end of 'square')

3. New type of ore and Bricktron. Red ore could be store in barrels. New Bricktron could be a wizard, who has a mana capacity (e.g. max 20 loads) and he needs to acquire it from red ore stored in barrels. And ofc his task is to shot enemies with his powerful wand.

I will post more tomorrow.

  • Hey kuzynn,

Love the suggestions. I've shown it to the rest of the team. It's quite a long time since we had some fan art from the community. I don't want to be corny, but it means a lot.

I would also love a Wizartron (would that be right name?). I feel like Corruptrons are more and mode "badass" and I would love to see them getting reinforcements!

    Your suggestions have been noted!

Thanks again for taking the time to wright to us,

    Ben

    Ben

So you need to rename the rest, Knightron and Archtron ;)

    Next proposals:

    4. Hats, skills, news items.
    Skills:
    woodcutting - cutting is faster
mining/digging etc (doing something with pickaxe) - actions with pick are faster
    archery - faster reload
    fighting - more stamina
sorcery - more loads from one red ore

Hats. Reason? Tools are small, it would be easier to find Bricktron that we want to select (like knights - helmets, and archers - hats).

    Items for training:

  • uhuhu love the little hats!

Hey guys just wanna bring this Idea back into your minds.
I love all the ideas but this one is my favorite.
Would make the castles much more relistic if we could build stone walls with battlements made out of wood on top :)
  • Hey B4ll3ntin3s,

Thanks for the suggestion, I will forward it right away to the guys!

    Ben
  • By the way, possibility to build a framework would be nice as well.
With the woodsystem right now I am not able to build one...
But I think that would a big rework on the stone system as well since there are no bricks that would fit into a framework.
  • Yeah, the wood system can be tricky to master. It's not that obvious at first, but after a while you start get it. I'm very bad at building stuff, that's why the conquest mode is ma favorite, but eventually I learned to master the wood mechanics and it became after that my favorite resource.
  • Oh I do know how to use the Woodsystem.
But I meant something else... there are no more horizontal wood logs and also non in a 45° angle or near that.
  • Actually, you don't need the horizontal logs anymore because they were replaced by the brace and beams.
  • yeah but by building with beams it does not look as a real framework.
    It's all about the esthetic appeal :D :D that's why I mentioned it ;)

Apart from the diagonal beam, that's exactly what you can build with the new wood system.
  • But it does not look so massive Ben.
    Not like the medieval times....
Building a framework filled with stones does not look good right now in castle story...
    But that's just my opinion.
  • In medieval times they didn't have little yellow guys that grew out of crystals either ;)
I get your point, that's the direction we will go with as for now.

    Ben
  • Yeah. The wooden beams are a little bit thin compared to the bricks. Also there is some space between beam an brick. And we only can fill one row of frames and not a second one due to the squashed bug.
  • I'm not sure I'm following you.

I'm not sure I'm following you.

It.. It doesn't really matter, Ben. :) I was refering to the fact (again) that we can't place bricks on top of wood anymore, so.... We are indeed able to fill the space between two vertical logs, but we can't place bricks on beams and thus create a classical framework ( Is this actually the right word?)

Long story short, the way the wooden system looks right now, it's not supposed to be combined with bricks the way the humans did hundreds of years ago.

maybe half-timbered would have been better

There still many ways you can combine wood and bricks into your build. It all depends how you want to use them.

The old system wasn't even suppose to support bricks on wood. A bug permitted it. Now it's fixed. I'm not worried for you guys. I'm sure you'll still be able to find creative and interesting ways to build amazing structures.

Maybe it could be limited to just 4 or five bricks high on wood ;)
  • Nahhhhh Like we say here: if you start feeding the dog food from the table, he will come back to get more ;)
  • Don't worry. We will! Oh, and that's the squashed bug I was talking about:

That's a good one. Ours is: Give them the little finger and they will take the whole arm.

Or by giving the little finger u could make an even better game ;)
  • Well, I would take the whole arm as well, heh.

Next proposal. Healing system with berries from brushes. After gathering you should wait few minutes for new berries (maybe only during day or special type of berries respawning at night). If brush is an obstacle for your building plan just cut it and get plank or log.

Thanks for the suggestion kuzynn! From what I know the guys are looking at ways the Bricktrons could be healed, so that would be a way of doing it :)

    Thanks again!

  • I saw a question about campaigns. You can try to do something like this:
    1. Mission: Defend castle. Player can just control knights, archers and he needs to defend the castle. At the if he won, some old-wise Bricktron says to our young leader: "You need to leave our island and establish a new settlement. We need to prepare for bigger battle!"
    2. Mission: Build a flying ship for 5 Bricktrons and storage on it for crystal parts. In this mission player can collect wood, stone and finish the flying ship. There can be some extra tasks like freed from captivity some Bricktrons around the main castle (kidnapped workers during the siege).
    3. Mission: Wipe out few Corruptrons, take over the crystal on the island and establish new settlement (goal after winning the battle: collect x yellow mineral, make few Bricktrons, build some walls in predetermined locations).
    4. Mission: Prepare for first siege of your castle. Some Corruptrons are going out from the cave on the island and they start attacking in a few waves.
    5. Mission: Another island clashes with your new island and it brings new enemies, you have to defend yourself and destroy/take over enemies crystals or something.

    Hey kuzynn,

Germain responded to that suggestion in our latest community Q&A session if you like to check it out: http://forums.castlestory.net/discussion/99/the-answers-community-q-a-session-2
